I am here reminiscing about one of the many health scares I have experienced. One of the reasons I started my health journey. You can also check out my other reasons at Queen Gee’s Story.
In 2018, I got one of the biggest health scares of my life. One evening between 7 and 8 pm, I was sitting in a parked car chatting with friends when suddenly I started to feel extremely hot. I asked the driver to wind up the window and turn on the air conditioner, which he did. Shortly after, I became so uncomfortable.
My chest felt tight and I started experiencing shortness of breath. I felt no pain, just had difficulty breathing so they took me to the closest doctor, who referred me to the hospital where I was admitted and did numerous tests. The long and short of it is that the cause was revealed and of course, a ton of medication was prescribed.
I am not an expert in medicine or nutrition. However, I knew that aerobic exercises and a change in my diet would help me heal better and faster. As professionals, we tend to focus more on work and spend less time caring for our health. The health scare was an eye-opener for me and so, eating healthier, being in nature, having great adventure experiences, moving my body more, building good relationships, and helping others are top priorities.
This health scare really motivated me to research what plant-based foods would enhance my respiration. Yes, it has been years, but I keep up-to-date with blogs and podcasts for information to help me in a healthy state.
Since the health scare, I still eat out once in a while but I prefer to prepare my meals to ensure that my food is my medicine (lol I love to say that). I love to experiment with different recipes too so that my meals aren’t boring. These awesome plant-based cookbooks have some healthy and easy recipes. Check them out and start enjoying tasty meals that are beneficial to your overall health. That is the journey I am now on.
There are many types of plant-based food that can help with the body’s respiration, but I am sharing with you a few of these foods that promote respiration. Visit my blog post about 7 Plant-based Foods That Enhance Respiration Health to learn more.
