- Choose exercises that you enjoy: HIIT workouts can be made up of a variety of exercises, so choose ones that you enjoy and that work for your fitness level. Prior to now, I haven’t done this and maybe that contributed to my inconsistency.
- Start with shorter intervals: As a beginner, start with shorter intervals of high-intensity exercise followed by rest, and gradually work your way up to longer intervals. Currently, I am doing a 14 minutes workout each day, but the intention is to increase the time as I go along.

HIIT workouts that can be done at home
You don’t necessarily need gear to do a HIIT workout at home – some people like to use a treadmill, while others prefer running outdoors. These are three different HIIT workouts that you can do in the comfort of your own home:
1. The 10-minute HIIT: This short, energizing workout lasts just 10 minutes and consists of three exercises: a running jump, a squat jump, and a push-up.
2. The 20-minute HIIT: This 20-minute workout is made up of five exercises: a running jump, a squat jump, a lunging jump, a push-up, and a squat.
3. The 30-minute HIIT: The longest of the three, this 30-minute HIIT workout includes seven exercises: a running jump, a squat jump, a lunging jump, a squat, a press-up, a burpee, and a plank. So get motivated and get going!
My 30 Days HIIT Workout at Home Challenge
As mentioned in my introduction, I have started a 30-day HIIT training challenge, which I intend to do consistently. The decision was marked because I want to lose about 20 lbs. I have also made some dietary and other changes to ensure that I reach my goal. I am really doing this to maintain good overall health and fitness, but my main focus is to lose weight and improve my respiration health.
In order to get the most out of my HIIT workouts, I found it necessary to make a plan. Today is day 7 of the challenge. It is just the beginning, but I intend to make this a habitual routine after 30 days.
While you don’t have to complete a challenging HIIT routine, I chose to do one that will help me reach my fitness goals. Using this video with Leslie and Nick allows me to walk one mile every day. I wanted something that fits into my morning routine, intense, and fun. I honestly need the fun to stay consistent. I have started workout routines many times and stopped, but this time I am challenging myself with HIIT workout at home.
